Winds really picking up here. No leaves left on the trees at all. Bye Bye pretty fall colors! Guess I'll be headed a little west in the near future.. One of my favorite public areas is in the Potomac River drainage. Good bet thats only going to be good for ducks for any number of weeks to come, if not part of the river completely for a while.

You forecast to be in the heavy snow bands to the west of this storm where you're at?

Snow, rain, wind. My 12 day vacation starts Friday, I hope things clear out by then.

We're expecting at least 6 inches of rain here, flooding and winds 20 to 30 gusting to 60 mph. Pulled out all the quick to thaw food to eat now and packed all the deer meat tightly in the chest freezer. It will last there for 4 days without breaking thaw and needing dry ice.

I guess my lowland spots along the river are going to be taken out of play, but I've got some other areas out west in the foothills of the Allegheny that should be good to go for the rut.
