Watch Field & Stream Magazine’s Dave Hurteau demonstrate archery tips. He shows how shooting long-range shots can improve your shooting form and force you to not miss.

2 problems:

1st- his 'compound'-bow pounds are just a little above his range, he is struggling to get it back.

2nd- if my dad seen him pull back that arrow pointing towards the sky - he'd let him shoot it then give 'm a 'what's for' in the seat of the pants.

"Don't promote unsafe practice- it leads to unsafe hunting"

that's all folks!!

I don't think i would ever shoot over about 40 yards hunting. I do think it would make you better at the 40 yards if you shoot some to say 60-70 yards. In 3D shoots there are often 60 yard shoots.

I have discovered one thing in my years of shooting. Since I now practice regularly at 50+ yds, those actual hunting shots at 30yds and closer are much easier.
