Any of you guys have to cancel a hunt this morning due to the gov't shutdown? Luckily I have plans to hunt a WMA this afternoon & not the local NWR.

The way it sounds right now no one really knows what the heck is going on. I've heard several reports of one guy being told the area is closed then the next guy talking to someone else & the area is open. I'm going to hunt as plan unless the area actually has a closed to hunting signs. Dem idiots in office could screw up a wet dream!!!!!!

If they are closed and don't have law-enforcement why not walk around the gate and hunt anyway?  As long as you have a permit would that be illegal if you walked in?

Yes, the NWR's are closed & entry is illegal. I personally don't see a problem with it, but any deer killed would be considered a poached animal.
