This is a deer feeder idea I came up with for public land. It's very cheap and easy to make and works great. Costs about $5 to make, and that's only if you have to buy the bucket. I had a couple laying around. No batteries or moving parts, just good ol' gravity! Cut a quarter sized hole at the very bottom of the side of the bucket. As deer eat the corn, more falls out.

I made some like that but I put a board on the bottom of the bucket that stuck out under the whole and hung the bucket in a tree. Squirrels will get on the board and rake the corn out to eat and drop most of it. Squirrel powered deer feeder.

Nice! I was just shooting for something simple & cheap. And if somebody steals it then its no big loss.
