Went scouting today

I drove to the public lands and scouted four or five hours today. It was a hot 98° but I did find some good sign. It was so hot when I got to the creek I stripped down and dove in. I know you guys probably didn't need that visual but still anyone else out scouting?

I'm going to have nightmares now. I tried to scout up at one of my favorite hunting grounds, but they had run a newscast about the sunflower fields planted for dove season a few weeks ago, and I could hardly find a place to park. Literally 100 or more folks wandering around in flip flops, shorts, dresses, OMG. The sunflowers have already died and turned brow, they are about to mow them under. Even had several people stop and ask me where the sunflower fields were. We were standing right next to a 20 acre field of the dried heads, Told them "You're looking at them". Hopefully things will empty out soon, and I can get down to business.

putting boots on the ground tomorrow. Going to glass my white oaks and find a good starting point for this bow season!
