One piece cut on contact

Post by Uncle Bob on Sat Mar 03, 2012 1:04 am

Does anyone use the old one piece cut on contact broadheads like the Eskimo, Bear or the Copperhead?

UNCLE BOB I shot ZWICKYS for over 15 years. Had one I shot and killed 7 bucks with. I also killed 2 balk bears both with ZWICKEYS. I loved the simplisty of sharping them. Some of my firsy memorys were of comeing back to camp seting around the fire resharping my zwickeys for the next day. All my bucks and gobblers I killed with them were shapen useing a file. The last 11 or 12 years I've made my own trade points.
But for 20 years I also used stone points some. I've killed 5 bucks and 3 gobblers with stone points I've knaped. Shot a 2 year old gobbler year before last with a OSIDIAN HEAD I KNAPED.
I DON'T USE STONE TO MUCH BUT EVERY NOW AND THEN STONE CALLS TO ME.

I have killed a bunch of critters with Magnus heads. I have killed a few with Zephyrs. I tried 3 blades but always go back to 2 blade. They just work.

Next year I might get some Howard Hill 3 to 1 length to width ratio broad-heads. They just scream "penetration". Very Happy

I've used Simmons Tree Sharks on the last 4 deer I've shot..all but one fell and died in sight within about 50 to 60yds..the other went about 70yds into some thick I couldn't see...this one.

Nice shot! I've got Zwickey eskimos on both my longbow and recurve, hopefully I'll get something with them this season.
