Beautiful. Lot more fun to shoot. I've been shooting more trad bows myself.

Re: Took the wheels off
Alright boys (and girls) seeing this elegant bow just makes me itch to tell you where I am at and have you check my thinkin'. So, as you saw in my instinctive shooting vids, the journey continues. By shooting a NAP centerest flipper on my compound, my arrows which where shot through my previous overdrawn whisker biscuit are now too short. I got the stuff to fletch my own and was thinking about a saw to cut my own, but spent too much on what I had so far. Went to an archery shop today to 'look' at a drop away rest to maybe make my other arrows work and there on the wall is a Samick Sage takedown bow. I pick it up and started to feel as if it has always been. Light, sleek, graceful. I pulled it back and loved the feel of full draw tension on my fingers. Ok, so now what? Goin' full trad feels a bridge too far for me right now to be honest. I think I will order a dozen arrows cut to the length I need, fletch them, and shoot my compound for this season. I can definitely see where the journey is going though. Like Uncle Bob said in an older post commenting on a recurve he just picked up 'I think I'm in love.' Thanks for reading and I would like to hear your bow journeys, what you are enjoying today and any thoughts you have about what I shared. Thanks.

Man, I love my longbow. The look & feel nothing like a trad bow. I shoot it almost daily, can't get enough. With that said it takes that kind of effort to be accurate. It's not like riding a bike for sure.
My suggestion is look for you a lightweight used starter bow. Hunt with your compound & by next season you should be ready to hunt trad style.

Spauldo,
You sound like me when I started with sticks. That Sage is an affordable bow. Some places are selling them on-line for under $150 and it is getting good reviews. That would be a good cheap way to get started. If you are like me back in the day...after I was bit all I would think about in the stand with my compound was shooting a recurve. In fact the last deer I killed with a compound was at about 5 yards in the corn and the first thought was I could have done that with a recurve.

Right, I hear that. The lightness, simplicity, beauty. That may be the place to start for sure. When I am able/ready, I think this will be my first trad bow. Like Cbigbear said, this season compound (probably with similar thoughts and experiences to yours) and if I can pick up and shoot trad in parallel I may be ready for next season. Thanks for sharing that.

Whatever you do dont sell your first trad bow. I traded mine...wish I would have kept it.
Re: Took the wheels off
Guys the best way to describe the looks of bows is as follows-
Compound is the super model, she has all the curves some natural some not, she's high maintenance, when she's dressed up in the right out fit she's a knock out.
Trad is the farmers daughter, just plain down to earth, simple, she has all the curves & they are all natural. She's hot with no makeup needed. Low maintenance girl that just looks good no matter her age.
Bottom line both girls are sexy but the farmers daughter just fits in a country boys hand better.

Re: Took the wheels off
Im not going back. I shot for BowTech and a few others for a number of years. Switched to trad 2 years ago and I am having more fun then I ever had at archery. I took a small 7point last year with a longbow I made and that little deer was more fun and means more then any I have put on my wall. Trad is FUN !!!!!!!
