Public Land Bachelor Bucks
No corn or any other kind of lures, just some intersecting trails.

Rats, guess that kind of rules that out. We just got an extension here, opening on the first Friday after Labor Day. That makes bucks in velvet a real possibility!

That's nice, maybe you'll be able to connect on one.

Re: Public Land Bachelor Bucks
I got a nice little buck in velvet on opening day a number of years ago. A six point, looks like an 8 though, main frame 6 with no brow tines. Very small inside spread though, only about 12 inches.
If you ask me, the older bucks shed their velvet first. I always try and get some scouting in the week before the season opens, and I look hard for velvet rubs on brush, usually a sign that a good buck is using the area and cleaning his rack.Usually he will do this near his bed.

I have seen this a few times and when season gets there they have broken ranks and vanished.
My experience shows that some or one will come back to the area I first saw them late in the season.

Re: Public Land Bachelor Bucks
The pics are mis-leading according to the timestamp. They are 1hr on 1 day - the same day......and in July...
