Vibration Dampeners
I was waxing the bow string on my recurve this morning and got to wondering how many guys use more than just string silencers to reduce noise upon release? My recurve (Martin Hunter) has a threaded insert for a stabilizer...never considered a stabilizer before, but curious how many use one on their traditional bows? Also, how about Sims Limb Savers? Anybody using them? Are they helpful at reducing vibration and noise?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes i use silencers and a stabilizer. I also have limbsavers the only draw back to them is they slow the bow about 4 to 6 ft a second outher than that they help alot..

I only use cat whiskers on the string. I don't feel I get that much vibration or noise from my recurve to necessitate more than that.

Just use beaver hair or wool yarn. Both work great.

Just string silencers on my longbow and compound.

Try putting the string leeches near the ends of the string about where the flemish twist ends. It has very little effect on speed but definite effects on noise. I use them with wool silencers I make myself.
