Trail Cam Mod Along Empty Trail Cam Mod Along

Post by Waiting4Fall Thu Aug 02, 2012 10:29 pm

I have decided to get back into using trail cams, mainly for the Trail Cam Pics subforum. I ordered 2 of the $29.99 trail cams, I posted about. I really like the compact size. Back in the day when I bought a new trail cam, I always did my own camo mod. If these work well, I'll buy 2 more.

My plan is to use 2 pieces of galvanized steel hanging tape, to run through the back of the cam. This will be in place of the factory strap. I will secure the unit to the tree with 2- 1/4 inch x 2inch lag bolts/screws.

Looking good. I really like the smaller cams, much easier to hide.

Good stuff. Can't wait to see the finished mod. Question: Are you going to leave the red/green LEDs exposed? Do you have to? I guess it doesn't matter with flash going off on every picture/video. Just curious.

No problems yet, all is well. No one is going to see them, especially as far back as they are!

Best idea ever, saw your vid on youtube back in 2012. Had to do it to my cams.
The 1st time i went to check them, I couldn't find one. Took me like 20mins to find the tree.
