Frickin awesome isn't it! EVERYONE needs to verify they are registered to vote in this falls election.

I know that this is a key time for bowhunters, with the rut in progress across much of the nation when the polls happen.

But this is not an excuse for not voting! If you have plans to be out of town hunting during this years poll, vote absentee. It is VERY important that we all register and VOTE this fall.

I know the prospect of a bowhunting VP sounds awesome, infact i was excited when i first heard the news. but just because he bowhunts does not mean he is looking out for where YOU do your bowhunting. remember, this is a man who has MANY connections and has the ab
.il.ity to hunt private land, where as many of us, infact i believe
.more of us on here than not, do not have access to private lands. i'm not looking to start any sort of political debate, but i thought this was a good article i originally found this in my field & stream mobile app and a quick google search turned up this article.

Not to get into politics but as far as I know, Obama has been protecting National Parks and Public lands from drilling and such.

Romney would tear it all up. Ryan might be a bowhunter, but I'm sure he doesn't need public land to hunt on.

I am still reading up on all views of public land, national parks, drilling etc.. so not saying everything is %100 true. The truth is hard to find in politics. I'd rather see wind turbines out there instead of drills. Just consider that once the water is toxic, wildlife is toxic.

Ridiculous. We went through this with some other biased blogs from questionable sources, I believe it had to do with articles published by the left trying to discredit the Wisconsin Governor before the recall election.This one is from "Think Climate Progress"? Really?

I truly fear what Obama will do as a lame duck President without having to worry about running for re-election again. Do you like your second amendment rights? Very quietly Obama has been trying to ratify the UN resolution against small arms ownership.

How about a liberal Supreme Court that will side against them? There will probably be an appointment made during the next four years. This could greatly impact everything that we hold dear as hunters and fishermen.

It's all too easy to hop in the truck to go hunting, bag a deer, grind the meat in your electric meat grinder,using electric lights, but then complain about oil and coal? Kind of hypocritical,don't you think?

Kentucky has a huntable Elk population now,you know where? On lands that were strip mined for coal. Know why? Because those lands were reforested by the coal companies when they were done.

Wind Turbines? OK. Sure. Those trees are ripped out off the mountain top, public and private lands.It's happening right here where I live. The areas are fenced, access denied, and they will stay that way forever,as long as those things run.They will not be reforested,nor will the clear cuts for the power lines coming off the mountain, that are also now posted.

I say we put the RIGHT people in office, the ones who will protect our heritage, and if issues arise that need to be dealt with, like a sale of public hunting land (that I really doubt ever will) we deal with it by mustering the full power of the hunting lobby and shoot it down like we have in the past.

i'm just saying there is some interesting information out there about what could happen.
if gun control is what your worried about, obama has sided with gun owners over gun control advocates! he signed bills to allow guns in national parks and on amtrak for gods sake!
and I LIVE IN MASSACHUSETTS, romney was my governor, i know what an asshole LIAR romney is. did romney support gun owners in ma? no, he supported MORE gun control. as far as the un resolution against small arms ownership (please read the whole thing)....

and ok i can see your point about wind turbines. as far as i know none of our turbines are on public land here though. private land bought by private companies. but i see your point there. and as far as hypocritical, yes i guess i am being hypocritical, or maybe not, nobody has given me the option or affordability to live a coil, oil free lifestyle. i do however walk to my woods. no reason for me to get in my truck to drive to hunt. too much public land around me.
this is a tough election for me, do i want to vote for obama? no! do i want to vote for romney? NO! i just have to weigh my options and vote for the lesser of two evils.

Obama is bent on undermining the principals of this Country and turning it into a socialist mecca where the population is laborers and "have nots" and the leaders Kings and Dictators. He fully supports gun control but has been hiding this letting Hillary lead the way.

Obama had nothing to do with allowing guns in National Parks, that was decided by the Supreme Court (one that could change radically with a liberal Judge appointed) and the issue predates Obamas presidency.

haha, i just dont think that there is a REAL threat to gun owners right now or in the near future, thats all. i dont think that gun control laws will change with whoever is put in office is all im saying. anyway, my original purpose of this post was to make people aware that there is a possible threat of public land being invaded, and as stated above too i did say that you can't believe everything in politics. thanks slowbow for giving me something to do tonight, this was actually pretty fun.
