Are you riding it out Cbigbear? We're staying put. Looks like we'll just get a glancing blow.

Doing good just no power. The rain has stopped & the wind has die down a lot. Finally able to let the kids out the house. You doing alright over there?

All is calm here. We saw only a little wind. It didn't even start raining until today.

Re: Hurricane Isaac
It got pretty ugly here in BR, but somehow we didn't lose power. The guy on the north side of us has a huge pin oak right next to my driveway...kept waiting for the bad boy to come down on the house, but it didn't. Probably dodged a bullet this time. Bigbear - ya'll got power back yet?
Re: Hurricane Isaac
Yes, we got power back Fri evening. Apex you on high ground in BR? The river flooding has been really bad with this storm.

Re: Hurricane Isaac
It has. I went fishing on the Blind River and Lake Maurepas last Sunday and the water was already a foot and a half or two feet higher than normal because of all the rain we've been getting. Add the storm surge and all of the rain from the hurricane and it's no surprise the flooding is ugly. We're just lucky we live on high ground even though we're only about a mile from the Amite River.
I don't know if ya'll do much fishing, but I'm afraid this storm is gonna mess up the Florida Parish rivers and maybe the spillway for a while.
