Public Bowhunting Area In Kansas
I am looking for advice on finding a Public Hunting Area in Kansas. I am planning on attempting to take a trip this coming year(2013). If anyone has hunting the public area's in Kansas please give me some tips. Thanks.

Never been to Kansas. Keep in mind their non-resident deer licenses are awarded through a lottery process, and are not available over the counter. If you have not applied for one yet, you'll want to act quickly. Good luck!!!

Application is end of April but some units have left over tags that can be bought into July. There are a number of big reservoirs with large amounts of public ground open to hunting. The terrain is not the normal "big woods" hardwoods many are use to hunting in other midwestern states. Most have mature deer but finding the perfect tree for a tree stand is always a challenge. Often a ground bind is required.
