MICHIGAN PUBLIC LAND BOWHUNTING Empty Re: MICHIGAN PUBLIC LAND BOWHUNTING

I am new to this forum but I already love it. Let me just start by saying that I am 18 years old and there are not many kids out there like me. While most of friends have countless acres to hunt, I have always been the kid hunting state land. And that's fine with me. Since I was 12 years old I have harvested five bucks. All on state land. I work my butt off to find the spots that I do and get excited when I see the same doe and two fawns every night. People make fun of me when I shoot "Scrub bucks," but they have no idea the kind of work and preparation I put into that buck. They weren't there when I was carrying my treestand on my back 1.5 miles through a swamp. Michigan bowhunting can be challenging, put it on public land and it can get damn near impossible! But isn't that why we love it? After all like my dad always says, "It's called hunting, not killing." Happy hunting all!
