QAD Ultra HD or Rip Cord Rest
Which do you prefer and why? I have a little mad money stashed from the wife and want to purchase one of these rests.
Thx,

I don't think you can go wrong with either one. They are both good rests. The QAD seems to have proven itself.....that's what I put on my wife's bow.

Re: QAD Ultra HD or Rip Cord Rest
My brother shoots a Limbsaver speedzone and the Ripcord didn't work well due to the speed of the bow. He shoots a QAD now and loves it. I now shoot the "slow" ripcord with no issues. His bow is pushing 350 fps and I'm at about 285 fps.

Re: QAD Ultra HD or Rip Cord Rest
I have a ripcord and it is steady and consistent. I am shooting fingers at a 52lbs draw weight on a bow rated at 285fps. I bought it to save a little money and felt the QAD was probably more for a guy shooting a faster bow.

Re: QAD Ultra HD or Rip Cord Rest
The QAD is a better rest between the two. If I were you I would take a look at the limbdriver pro V. It is a containment style rest like the QAD and the ripcord, but it is all aluminum and it is the fastest drop away rest on the market. I have shot the old style limbdriver and I liked it for the most part. There was an issue with the collar slipping on them but the new Pro V limbdrivers have completely eliminated that issue.

I have had really good luck with my QAD rest. Never had a Rip cord so I can't comment on it.

Re: QAD Ultra HD or Rip Cord Rest
HD all the way. I will say that the reason I feel this way is because I fooled with two rip cords before giving up on them and going to the HD.
I don't care who makes it, as long as it works like I want it to. There may be better out there but I stop spending money as soon as I am satisfied.
I lake the fact that I can draw and let down without the HD falling on me and I like the fact that I haven't had to replace any part of one for the last 5 years.
Good solid product.

Re: QAD Ultra HD or Rip Cord Rest
Since I last posted on this I have returned my ripcord for a QAD. As I attempted to fine tune my bow, the ripcord did not allow for complete fletching clearance. I do not know the exact reason for the clearance issue and I am assuming/hoping the QAD will solve the issue.
