Some Georgia Deer
I first started hunting public land in the late fall of 2007 after being introduced to a guy who later became a good friend of mine. He had experienced a lot of success on the local WMA's over the years and encouraged me to give it a try. Up until that time, I had always been in a hunting lease, and never could get past the "public" part of "public land". To me the phrase conjured up images of crowded parking areas and woodlots pounded to death with hunting pressure, with all the critters run plum out of the country. My buddy painted a different picture.
I didn't have any success that first fall, but since then have started to put the puzzle together. You'll notice right away that I hunt deer and not antlers. Although I have seen quite a few fine bucks while hunting public areas, I always will enjoy shooting does. I'm not out there to collect bone, I shoot the first legal animal that gives me the opportunity.

Re: Some Georgia Deer
Great job! The woods you hunt look very similar to the ones I hunt. Do you happen to have the spot and stalk on video?

Only the show and tell from that kill, not the stalk or shot. I'll post it in the vid section if anyone wants to see it.SCBROWTINE wrote:Great job! The woods you hunt look very similar to the ones I hunt. Do you happen to have the spot and stalk on video?

What did it take to put the patterns together ? I Hunted Maurepas Swamp WMA 2 years ago climbed up a tree and had 2 hunters walk under me.
