Kayak or canoe for access Empty Kayak or canoe for access

Do any of you use a kayak or canoe to access a hunting spot? I have been meaning to buy one for a few years and just haven't dropped the hammer. Any tips or tricks would be greatly appreciated.

I use a kayak. No real tricks but I like a small closed top boat. The close top allows me to store my stand, pack, & bow below the deck keeping everything dry. I field quarter my deer so when I kill I put the Alice pack below the deck behind my seat & move my stand to the top & strap it down. In cold weather I use neoprene gloves because your hands will get wet.
