Adirondack Whitetail Quest

Hi all,

I am on my 3rd season quest of harvesting an Adirondack Buck on Public Land. For those that do not know, hunting the Adirondacks is an extremely difficult task. It is Forever Wild, Mature woods, no logging, no baiting (New York law), the lowest deer population in New York! I'll be hunting Primarily with a bow, but will be doing first 2 days of rifle this year if I do not get lucky with the bow.

Instead of blogging about it, I started a 'video blog' on my youtube channel. I'll post the parts as they get posted up here. The purpose is to eventually end the video serious with the quest fulfilled

Hey Boy Gallego I really enjoyed your Videos. I have to ask how do you hold your camera that allows you to flip it front to back the way you do?

One suggestion ditch the 35lb stand & get you a guido's web. It would make life much easier.

Yea, I gotta find a lighter stand just can't drop the $300+ price at the moment. Needing it to buy a camcorder and accessories.

Maybe I should just try ground hunting with natural blinds. I've managed to take that 35lb stand up a steep mountain. I really like it, just wish it was 15 pounds lighter lol. I like having the ladder stand so I can go down anytime nature calls.

You might could also use a lightweight loc-on & stick(s).
Cheaper but not as comfortable.

Yes, the combo of sticks and hanger is what I want for next year due to its versatility. If you know of a good budget friendly combo I am all ears!

Summit makes a climbing stand that weighs about 20lbs.

In part 3 at the beginning you show the first rub then turn the camera to you. You look like you are holding the camera with one hand. How do you do that? Now I'm new at this so maybe I'm all wet

too bad you weren't closer to your spot, it would be nice to put in a trail camera. I bet you got a nice buck in there!

Ah, I see. Yea, I am holding the camera with just one hand. Its an HD Drift Camera, nice and light, waterproof, and small. The only problem with it is the fisheye lens and no optical zoom. Makes everything look 30 yards further out. Up close shots look great though.

Well, the hunt in the Adirondacks is over without a deer, but I managed to complete my journey and feel good about it.
