Topo Maps??? Empty Topo Maps???

Post by Bchadwick1990 Mon Oct 22, 2012 5:28 pm

Ever since I have started hunting public land I have used aerial maps. I have recently started looking at topo maps but do not know exactly what to look for. I know saddles, and creeks but I would like to get some more in-depth information on how to benefit the greatest from the maps. If anyone has a good knowledge of how to pin point funnels and other travel areas please let me know. Thanks!

From what I have been able to gather from this forum there are some who use them. If you can post a jpg or the like, we maybe able to tell ya and help ya.

As for symbology, they are quit common and are based in the legends.

Google "learn to read topo maps" and start reading, some have videos like this one....

hope this helps.

I've been reading a ton on how to read the maps and still have a ton of questions.. anyways I don't know if this is an option for you but I ordered this book.. Mapping Trophy Bucks.. It's got great reviews on Amazon. If you want to wait.. ill read it and let you know what I think or learn. Bobby
