DON'T FORGET
Maryland's bowseason opens earlier now. September 6th will be opening day for archers. The DNR has posted the new 2013-2014 regs online @ http://www.dnr.state.md.us/huntersguide/index.asp
Re: DON'T FORGET
Wow that's early. Why do you think they moved it up? I've been trying to find a good option for a September hunt. Maybe Maryland is something to consider.

Re: DON'T FORGET
The early starting date is the result of efforts of hunters and groups Like the Maryland Bowhunters Society. Being politically proactive with the legislature, MBS has really helped with more opportunities for archers here in Maryland, which includes some Sunday hunting on private land being allowed now also. They have also worked to modify bag limtis to improve the hunting in general, and are always at the table when threats from antihunters arise. I would recommend if you are a Maryland archer or have an interest in hunting Maryland, you consider joining.

Hunting here would be a good consideration if your looking for a September hunt. While it can be downright hot here in September, I can attest to the fact that some of the best hunting takes place then, especially on the public areas, before the pressure picks up, and with the earlier start date, the chance at a buck still in velvet is greatly increased.
