Pinch Point Empty Pinch Point

Post by Waiting4Fall Sun Aug 25, 2013 10:22 pm

I am a current Maryland resident and a West Virginia native. I have been bow hunting for around 22 years. I started when I was 20 years old and am currently 42. I love to hunt whitetail deer because everything need's to be perfect or very close perfect to get it done (wind, stand placement, and a little luck Very Happy). My favorite memory would have to have been when I realized and really understood what a pinch point or funnel was and how and why they work. After that my hunting success increased greatly! My favorite public land's would have to be Indian Springs WMA or Sleepy Creek Mt. Both of these area's allow you to get far back from other hunters, and giving the right pinch point it's hard to tell what you may see. Living in the northeast and hunting all mountains I would love to have the chance to hunt on public land in the Midwest, Illinois perhaps. I would think it would be completely different in the way you would approach everything about the hunt. It would be a learning experience for me, and being a bow hunter; well we love the challenge don't we. If I could give one tip to a new bow hunter it would have to be, play the wind!! With all the scent control products and clothes its still very important (there is not such thing as completely scent free!) One last thought, like my screen name, find the pinch point's on your local ground and get it done.
