Crazy Buck! Empty Crazy Buck!

Post by TBurgee Wed Oct 23, 2013 1:51 am

Well, went out hunting the other evening. Forgot my camera, the grunt tube, and darn near everything but my bow and arrows. was dead slow for the first hour then heard all this ruckus coming from behind me across a creek on private land. and there in the field about 80 yards away stands a really nice 8 or 10 point buck (forgot my binoculars as well) grunting, rubbing everything in sight, and i guess making scrapes (he was throwing dirt 5 ft in the air) no other deer around, and all of the sudden he stopped, went to feeding in the field, and walked away (of course the opposite direction of me)

never seen or heard of anything like it. you guys?

I can tell you that Sunday traffic was stopped on a county road, because 2 bucks were chasing a group of does. They ran right in front of my truck, and were chasing the does on the road!

He was warmed up. Perhaps there was another buck he was challenging or trying to run off out of sight, the reason for his aggression? Shame you forgot your grunt tube. When a buck is spoiling for a fight like that, a few grunts would probably have brought him right in!
