For those who use game carts
For those who use game carts to get gear into and out (game to if you were fortunate), what are your thoughts and would you do it again?
How you ever used them out west also?

Re: For those who use game carts
Great question. I have under gone a bit of a renaissance, regarding gear & stuff I use/take for bow hunting. It started last season when I filmed this video, in case you haven't seen it.
I have now come to a point where I go to the woods with a Hammock Seat, and a small fanny pack. Very simple, very light. Gone, for me, are the days when I have to use a game cart to haul all of my gear in/out. I will continue to use them to get deer out of the woods, but that's all. Hope this helps.

I have used one once. It wasnt mine but Ill tell You I didnt go buy one. I'm trying to carry less gear in, I take too much as It is. It was nice not having to carry my stand on My back though. Im certain it would have been nice if I had a deer to haul out though. Never out west, just down south.

Re: For those who use game carts
I have used a cart and a dead sled to get deer out of the woods.
I prefer the sled. It is easy to store in the truck and it just glides over rocks, brush, thickets and logs.
The cart takes alot of room in the truck, does not go through brush or thickets well and has dificuly going over logs and limbs.

Re: For those who use game carts
I only pack my bow and stand in, leave the cart locked in the back of the truck (only there to haul deer out). I bought one of the sleds to try, but it disappeared before I had a chance to use it. I have one of the dual wheel carts and while it works pretty well generally speaking if you get into a lot of logs or ruts and have a big deer it'll flat WEAR YOU OUT.
Re: For those who use game carts
I use a cart for hauling deer out only, but it can be a pain, but better than dragging to me, never tried a sled, might have to find out more about them, like stated above, carts in hilly thick stuff can be troublesome

I have undergone the same evolution. Backpack and weapon only. hunt from the ground. I enjoy the hunt much more not having the burden of weight to pack in. Deer gets quartered up where it lays and put in trashbags in the backpackDave Mullins/Waiting4fall wrote:Great question. Re: For those who use game carts
I was around when Dave did the deer cart thing. I bought a cheap one . Luckily I only took it on flat ground, it worked okay. I made a extended handle bar I could step into and using my torso to propel it. I would take it 1-2 miles deep. No way I could pack my stand, bow , and pack full of clothes in.
While the quidos (sp?) web is interesting. I can't see me using something like that. I have also taken a stand and hide it well over a hill for a area that was straight up a mountain...

I used to use it to haul gear in and out of the woods. Past several years it is used to haul game only. Been taking less in with me to hunt.
