Fertilizing Acorn Trees?
Saw a neat Youtube video from a gentleman named Thad Beckum about fertilizing oak trees so they produce more acorns, just wondered if anyone has ever employed this and how well it worked for you.

Yup, here it is. This guy has some really cool videos. He's a primitive hunter and he knows his stuff man. I invited him to the forum. There's another video he has where he totally revamps one of his spots and fertilizes the perssimon trees and does some other things to make the area better, pretty cool.

I have been meaning to employ this technique of fertilizing native browse and or mast trees. Louisiana is very finicky about feeding on public land, but this is one practice that our Wildlife and Fisheries Dept has ok'd.

Yeah I'm not exactly sure in Michigan what their position on fertilizing is. I've used the "throw and grow" type products on public land before with mediocre results. A DNR officer told me that products such as that are legal. He said things like rakes and a hand tiller are fine on open or leaf covered ground, just no power equipment or pulling/cutting existing plant life. But I've got to do some checking before I go fertilizing on public ground.
