Salut from Sportsman's Paradise!
Hey What's up, Name is Jeff and I started hunting public lands with my bow just 3 years ago. I spend 90% of my whitetail season on public lands with a compound bow. Started shooting competitive 3D archery with my father as a young boy but never hunted big game.
This season has been the greatest test and learning experience in all of my hunting days. Great luck and lots of action riddled with some really bad decisions and unpreparedness has opened my eyes to the reality and difficulties of what we love do, which in turn, is why we love to do it.
While most everyone I know has hung it up for the season, I'll be venturing out for these last 2 weekends to hopefully close out a solid fish to my season

Welcome to the forum Jeff! I too am a public land hunter here in our great state of Louisiana. Keep us apprised of your adventures these last 2 weekends of Louisiana's archer season. Not to pry but which public lands are you most fond of here?
