Same here. In the past 2 weeks we have only had 1 day without rain down here in the Louisiana swamps.

Michigan Bow Season has been on for a week now and it has rained everyday. Sucks >Sad but I rather it rain now than at the end of October and early November. I have still gone out everyday and seen a few small bucks and some does. And my 11 year old daughter did get a 6 point with her crossbow during the Michigan Youth Hunt just before Bow Season. I was able to get the entire thing on video which is always awesome. I love hunting with my kids and my wife. I think I almost get a bigger charge out of watching and filming them than I do hunting myself.... well maybe not! But close!

Anyway yes the rain is really making for a downer of a start to the season. Hopefully it dries up soon.

I have another doe down. I have been taking a boat into access public land and it has largely increased my sightings. I saw 7 doe and 2 small bucks the first sit after using the boat to access an area. Another buddy was hunting an area across the lake from me that we boated in and he saw 10 doe and he shot one as well so we doubled that evening. Boating in has really helped us out a lot.

I'm right there with Ya. Trying to talk myself into the hike back into my rut spots. Hard to get motivated when you're older, and have some private land options available with a five minute walk to a fixed ladder as opposed to that hour hike with a heavy climber and day pack. But I'm gonna do it I think. At least once or twice this years rut. Still like my old spots, and I did scout them over the summer, found good sign, and made sure I had shooting lanes.
