Partners Deer and a Public Land set up In Bangor 4 U J1

On the corner of Broadway and griffin road (by Husson College) there is a large gas station. Turn into this station and head to the back of the parking area that makes up their paved lot on the Griffin road side. Now, putting the store to your back, look across griffin road and you will see a utility box for the electric company. to the left of this box there is a access road to the property in front of you.

Leaving the stores lot, cross the road and head into the property. It can be wet so proceed with caution. As you go in you will start heading up a slope and the trail will turn right towards the field on your right. Follow the trial to the top and now you are going to want to be in the field and tight to the few trees that there are there.

You will pass a few trees (evergreens) and then it will open up again where you will be able to turn into a clear area. Drive 1/2 way to the pine tree border of this area and stop. get out of the vehicle and look west north/west. Go to that corner and then walk right. very soon you will see an opening that is a snowmobile trail. follow this trail in about 80 yards. You will come to a apple tree and this is where you will want to turn left, enough to go wide around this tree.

When you are directly left of the apple tree (as you viewed it at first) stop and look left. You will see a pine that is limbed up 20' maybe. This is your first tree and it should be obvious. this is a 25 yard maximum shot and partridge bomb this Apple tree early in the season so bring x-tra arrows Smile
*The stand is dead center of the apple tree and maybe 20 yards back.

Next stand...

Staring at the base of the first stand tree, face west north/west and walk forward 40 yards. you will be at the edge of the open swamp. look for a large tree that should have climbing marks still left on it. If it isn't marked it should still be pretty obvious as a great shooter stand into that swamp. The deer run across your path here at all times of the day so hang out here if you can sit all day. Don't even think of trying to shoot behind you.... it wont be pretty.

This was designed as a two man set and nothing is getting out of there alive if you have two people set up in these two stands at the same time. There are other stands down the way on the edge of the pine row when you pulled in and parked but don't pay much attention to these because I don't think they get used often and your deer wont be coming from that area anyway.

Enjoy!
