i have a cross between a bassett hound and an american bull dog, he started out as a pet but from just being fed scraps of meat and being around deer that my family has killed he was naturally trained, he is now an essential part of my hunting gear (and my buddy:) ive owned some blood dogs but not one as good as him he is remarkable when it comes to deer and hogs. if its dead he will find it no matter how far it went. he found his 23rd whitetail this year, i hit the deer good just at a steep quarter, the deer only ran 75 yards but blood got thin so i backed out got the dog and 30 minutes later i layed my hands on the deer, it was the largest deer ive killed with a bow, its hard to beat a good dog
