Alabama Rut

Our rut is on a different time frame from most of the nation. From your experience when have you seen the most rut activity here in Alabama?

in marshall county, i usually see deer chasin pretty hard bout end of december and through january, i killed a deer last season the opening day of bow season and his neck was already swolt up(marshall county), in south alabama though they may start chasin as early as november, i saw a buck( bout 3 1/2 yrs old) chasin does all over a feild in sumter county the first week of december, but around about january is usually when i see things heat up in most places i hunt

I hunt some private land Tuscaloosa county and it starts about the middle of December.

Lowndes WMA rut is usually the last 2-3 weeks of the season. Barbour county seems to come in earlier though. Plenty of pre rut sign in both in December.
