Public land buck

I was in a panic because I know that if more than 6" of snow falls the deer move. And if you go by the way the crow flies it's only 1.5 miles and the deer can feed and rut with out heavy snow. I was speed scouting looking for any heavy sign of the rut since I have 7 stands on top of the mountain and can't get to any of them. Hiking along a clear cut approaching the corner, me on one side and him on the other we meet at the corner. Not knowing when I would be able to get into my stands this week cause temps. haven't gone above 40 degrees so at 10 yards I took the shot on the ground. I am proud of this buck, doing cold spot hunting and putting my arrow between him and I.
