"Hunt The Wind" logical in theory. What if there is no wind?
Okay, The prevailing winds are generally out of west or southwest where I live. But during the best bow hunting times (sunrise, sunset) THERE IS NO WIND! You might catch a breeze if you are hunting the most open high elevations you can find. But hunting the edge of creek bottoms for example it is still and windless. Sure I keep my hunting clothes in plastic bags with juniper branches and so forth, but I'm sure whatever sent I provide is just staying around me, not dissipating much at all. Also, I hunt from the ground. Any thoughts?

Thermals rise in the morning. The wind is important but in the morning with no breeze you should be fine in my opinion. By the way wind changes all the time. Everyone says play the wind and you can for the most part but there are some days where the wind is just going to go every direction.

With a zero wind afternoon the thermals are going to bring your scent down to the lowest elevations. Think of it as water flowing & seeking the lowest spots. Take this into consideration when setting up in the creek bottom & you should be ok.

The previous posts nailed it. Hunt high in the morning, and low in the evenings on windless days, to take advantage of the thermal air current.
