Everybody shooting their broadheads?

Our season is almost here in Alabama, October 15th. I've been shooting my broadheads here lately making sure they're hitting efficiently. I shoot a two blade zwickey eskimo on my longbow, and a 3 blade thunderhead on my compound. Have anyone noticed their broadheads having a different flight from their field points? And if so how did you get it corrected for the broadhead flight? Good shooting.

Look up broad head tuning your bow on u tube you can get them to fly very close to each other.

the two blade eskimos are really pretty straight flying...the most imprtant thing is to get them glued on well...its easy to be off with the taper etc ...I made up a tester that was simple...its base is a 1X4 about 15" long...I made two notched pieces about 3" high to spin arrows in...it becomes very apparent if yo did a good job or not on getting the heads glued on...

a first line of testing is just to spin the arrow with the head tip on a desk etc and spin it like a top...it becomes pretty obvious here too...now I am talking about wood arrows here...

best thing is they are easy to correct...just heat 'em up and redo...

as far as the others...test shooting them is the only way to see how they fly...many head cos make a tester so you can do that...at least I know Muzzy does...

My string snapped on me a week and a half ago. I got the bow back last Wednesday with a new string. I have been shooting, and shooting broadheads, but I was all over the place. I couldn't figure out what was going on. Finally, I noticed the peep was moving on me. I'm going back to the shop on Monday to have the peep tied and I am going to have the bow tuned. I'm nervous about the whole thing with our season 2 weeks away, but there's nothing else I can do.

I always do. In fact, I shot one through a deer already   You have to be sure they will fly properly, I shoot fixed replaceable blade broadheads and will shoot the arrows I intend to use for hunting, and then change the blades out with brand new ones once I know the arrow is on target. A well tuned bow should put field points and broadheads in the same spot. My bow tends to be a few inches low with broadheads, so I practice field points at 28 to 30 yards, then the broadheads hit dead on at 25.

That said, there always seems to be one or two arrows in a dozen that, for whatever reason, don't want to hit and fly away off target. So it is a good idea to shoot you hunting rigs at a target just to make sure they are on it.

Been shooting my broadheads for a few weeks now. As far as tuning, they basically just shoot a tad low of what my field points were hitting. A simple sight adjustment does the trick.
