Hunters Prevail on Sunday Hunting

This is the latest on the Sunday Hunting issue in Maryland. The equestrians have lost their bid to have full Sunday hunting stopped in Western Maryland. As it stands now, all  Sundays will be open to hunting for small game animals on private lands and WMA lands. Under the current rendition, State Forests and Parks will not be open for Sunday hunting. Deer hunting will be open on sundays for select dates on these same lands as well.

This is a major step forward in repealing the old Blue Laws against Sunday hunting in Maryland. The Maryland Horse Council was doing everything it could to stop these measures that had been passed into law last year from being put in place. One can only wonder if the election of a Republican Governor here in Maryland played a roll in moving things forward.
