HELP!!! How do you completely REMOVE unwanted Tide or Gain scent from clothing??? Empty HELP!!! How do you completely REMOVE unwanted Tide or Gain scent from clothing???

So I buy a lot of second-hand clothing for hunting, both camo and under layers. I also buy a lot of used camo because I am a collector of different types of camo. I buy the clothing from yard sales, second-hand stores and eBay. Many times the clothing has a smell to it, either a basementy/musty smell or worse, a Gain or Tide Laundry detergent smell. It seems like I can never fully remove the smell. I have tried all types of scent-removing detergents, Sportwash, Scent Killer, Dead-Downwind, Cheer free & clear, my homemade stuff, etc. I have tried doubling and tripling the amount of product. I have tried submerging and soaking the clothing in a bucket of water and detergent for a couple days. I have tried using baking soda, I have tried using vinegar too. And it doesn't matter if I hang dry the clothes outside or dry them in the dryer, the smell sometimes still lingers.

I had two more ideas I might try, one was to go get a bucket of creek water, dirt and all, and soak they clothes in it for a couple days. Or I may try the detergent with the added autumn or dirt scent in it.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas how to fix this issue??? Thanks guys

Trying something else right now I found online, soaking the clothing in a bucket of water with a cup of ammonia. Then washing in unscented detergent afterwards. I'll post whether or not it works after it's done.

Well the ammonia did help a lot, I can just barely sniff a hint of Tide on the clothing. But I'd say the ammonia got out probably 90% of it. I soaked it in ammonia water for 2 hours, then washed it using another cup of ammonia and no detergent. I may wash it once more in ammonia or with Dirt scented detergent to try and alleviate the last remaining hint of fragrance.
