What type shafts

I have used carbons, alumn and woodies for arrows. I'm going to be trying cane/bamboo shaft here soon. But Ask shafts are My go to shafts. There is just something about a Wood arrow flying from a Long bow or Recurve bow... So what do You use?

I have wood/aluminum and carbon. I mostly use my Arrow Dynamic Trad Lites though as I can shoot the same arrow from just about any bow within a 40# - 53# weight range. All I have to do is adjust tip weight.

I like the Traditional Only carbon shaft out of my bow.

I use Gold Tip Traditional carbon arrows!

Aluminum for both my set-ups. xx78 Super Slams/ 2216's for my compound, xx 78 Super Slam 2117's for my recurve. I have found no reason to switch. Besides I have several dozen of each spine weight.

I stopped using Aluminum years ago, I just do not like the "metal" sound of aluminum. These days I shoot both Carbons and Wood arrows out of my longbow. For carbons I like the Heritage series by Carbon Express. For woodies I have POC shafts for my Schulz longbow, for my 73# Hill Crocodile I use "Chundoo" (Lodgepole Pine) shafts. Honestly I would shoot all wood shafts it it were easier to get the weight I want easily, just seems like it is easier with carbons to get the weight and FOC I like.

I have ash arrows in the 700grn range.. I can understand the foc, but what grn weight do you look for in woodies?

The last ones I was trying to get dialed in I wanted 770 grain minimum spined for an 80# longbow. I am sure I could find something but I bought one set and they were too weak so I tried the carbon route and got it right the first time. I am sure I will eventually try and find the right wood combo for this bow but the carbons are flying soo good right now I hate to change anything.

I use Aluminum for me they tune better.2020 or 2115 for my 60# and 2216 or 2315 for my 70#. No penatration problems at all.

From what the old guys tell me, they all shoot like bullets, at the end of the day its like trucks, you're either Ford or Chevy.
