A good bow don't have to break the bank

Been hunting with recurves and longbows for about 20 years off and on. I have owned some high dollar bows but the days of having that kind of money to spend on a bow are gone. I now have 2 bows, a 1973 Bear Grizzly and a Samick Verna. Both are good hunting bows. Not the best looking or the big name but they are killers. I am hunting the Samick Verna this season I have owned some very nice longbows but none that I enjoyed shooting anymore than this one. It's 64" and 45 @ 28", the grip on this bow is perfect for me I feel no hand shock. What more can you ask from a bow? Now that being said there is nothing wrong with a $800.00 bow I like them but you don't need one to enjoy or be a deer hunting. I don't think they make the Verna anymore but Samick must make other good bows.

Amen to that. Sometimes its incredibly satisfying when you harvest one of God's creatures without buying the most expensive gear. I actually was thinking about doing a YouTube video called "The $100 deer kill" where I buy all the necessary gear to harvest a deer, then kill one and don't spend more than $100 on everything. I think it'd be fun to try.

Well I got everything set for my bargain hunt, buying almost everything at thrift shops including a bow. I got it all for about $65 so I was able to keep it well below my original goal of $100. And I had some time at the end of this season set aside for the hunt, but unfortunately this happened on my way to the National Forest. So it put me back a little bit and I never got to do it. But I do have an Ohio tag and their season runs until February so I may still be able to do it if I can make a trip down there. Otherwise it'll have to wait until the fall.
